The above Silver Headjoint is fitted to a Yamaha YPC62 Wood Piccolo
It was made by the UK Flute Maker Ewen McDougall of Ravensworth during the period he worked with the British Flute Makers Guild and has an interesting story associated with it.
A few months previous to my acquiring it I had bought, second hand from Ewen McDougall, a beautiful FMG Silver Flute Headjoint to fit my (then) Rudall Carte Wood Flute. So I asked Ewen if he had any similar second hand piccolo heads to fit my wood Yamaha Piccolo. He said "Yes, I will make you one." I emphasised that I could not afford a new one. He said "No problem - I am just looking around my bench and can see enough components from various old piccolo heads to re-assemble and make you up a second hand one." !!!
