Click on Photo to go to Flute Photographs
The above link will take you to photographs of various flutes, flute components etc, with an emphasis on the more common features of these instruments.
Also included are photographs of the manufacture of certain components
The object of the exercise is not to exclusively record the more obscure or rare features only infrequently seen, but to place an emphasis on displaying features frequently referred to in discussions such as those which take place on the FLUTE list run by Larry Krantz . In order to fully complement this feature, there are direct links from the photographs, wherever relevant, to the FAQ section on Larry Krantz Web Site.
However, when the opportunity arises for a photograph to be taken of a rare feature then it will not be missed and it may indeed be displayed in these pages.
Included with most of the photographs will be explanatory notes for the the features shown.

USEFUL LINKS - TO OTHER SITES
Larry has the best flute related pages and also includes links to most of the worthwhile flute sources on the net.
Larry runs a mailing list called FLUTE which is a list exclusively on flute related subjects. The list is very well managed by Larry, Helen Spielman, Nelson Pardee and myself (List Monitor). The list has over 2000 members from all over the world. All flute players with email facilities should join, learn from and contribute to FLUTE. There are no charges for joining and using FLUTE
The British Flute Society is probably the foremost Flute Society in the World. Though it is on a much smaller scale than the National Flute Society of America, the quality and content of it's quarterly magazine (Pan) is the envy of all flute societies. Visit this site to obtain details of membership and events.
Examples of the content of Pan may be found on this site.
I (John Rayworth) am Membership Secretary and will be pleased to receive requests for information about membership. It is possible to apply on line on the website

As a flute player himself he understands the needs of flutes and flute players and makes some exceptionally beautiful wood cases for flutes. Have a look for yourself at the site below. I myself am the proud owner of a flute case made by Andrew for my wood Rudall Carte Flute.
